This was painted in the studio from drawings, watercolours and notes taken during a trip in Egypt. Wadi El Seboua is an excursion taken en route to the temple of Abu Simbel, on Lake Nasser. The light in the crystal clear desert air is astonishing. Painted almost exclusively with the palette knife.
