A series of prints inspired by songs, music and performance

My prints are almost never straightforward reproductions of my other work but conceived as originals in their own right. There is a series inspired by music - songs, performances that serve as starting point for a varyingly abstract composition. These are mostly assembled as “digital collages” - the starting point may be several layers of watercolour sketches, pencil drawings etc which are then manipulated and overdrawn in the computer to produce an original which only exists as computer code. I find working with this new technology extremely exciting - and the resulting pictures could only ever be produced in this way.

There are other prints in an ongoing series titled - “Great Misunderstandings of The World”. These are produced in a similar fashion and almost always start from a series of watercolour paintings - which are gradually refined and manipulated to produce the result I am looking for. They make me laugh.
